Jaekyu x Mooyul, 100 words.
Sometimes Jaekyu gets glimpses.
He’ll meet Mooyul at the end of his shift, and Mooyul will talk about a particular patient – someone brought in under police watch; who’d been abusive toward the nurses; who’d been in the news for corruption ...
‘Did they pull through?’ Jaekyu will ask. And sometimes the answer is yes.
But sometimes the answer is no, and Jaekyu doesn’t ask the next question: did you do your best?
Or just, did you do it?
He doesn’t ask, so he doesn’t have to know. Mooyul knows, and lets him stay ignorant. Stay innocent.
But they’re both already guilty.
